In these fortnightly Sins of Red posts for paid subscribers I will be sharing a few snippets of my writing process, reflections on the plot and characters, as well as two audio episodes of the serial. These will be narrated by me and will be about 4 to 6 minutes long.

Free subscribers will receive the written narrative of the story each weekend.

Reflections

So far, Clive seems like an introverted nice guy. After all, he had to start out somewhere, and I went with the idea that a person may not be born bad, but what happens to them as they grow up and tackle life events can change that if they have a susceptible personality.

I think he felt extremely lucky to have bagged a girl like Rosie - who was bubbly and popular. But mainly because he could tell she really cared about him. She’d proved that by checking in when he was all alone after his parents died. Now all he has to do is treat her right. But he hasn’t really had any good role models to follow. And we know that his dad would often wallop his mum:

If Mr Burke’s dinner was not on the table, he would land a swift slap across her face and she would scurry off to prepare the meal. Part one.

So would it be too surprising if he did the same with Rosie?

More thoughts later in the post. Now it’s time for the next two episodes, narrated by me for premium members…
