Recap: After being abducted & released by her 1st boyfriend Clive, Rose ‘Red’ Redman revealed the identity & background of the notorious ‘noirette’ serial killer — at large for a few years. The police questioned Red about her work, and why Clive let her go free. Red began to feel like a suspect. Later, she thinks back to when she moved out from Clive’s flat after he slapped her, & then missed him so badly they got back together — trying out some kinky play. The Police ask her about Steph… & while giving the officers snippets, she reflects on the time when the pair of them became friends again.

Clive continued with the ‘truth’ question for Rosie, “at what age did you start to masturbate?”

Ah, I didn’t really want to go into detail about something so personal when Steph was there. After all, we were just renewing our friendship. But I remembered very well the first time I realised my bud was a pleasure zone. I was 13 and reading a book Steph had lent me. I won’t lie, I got to wishing that she was with me. Being young, one thought led to another.

I looked at my dare, not wanted to volunteer the truth.

“Okay. I take the dare,” I dropped to the floor and attempted 10 pushups.

I made it to 6 then Clive urged me back to the table by topping up my wine.

By this time, we were all a little tipsy.

“Oh no… I can’t show you guys the pics on my phone! You’ll think I’m crazy, and then I will be back to having zero friends again,” she laughed, the corners of her eyes crinkling slightly. “Okay. It’s quite straightforward… First crush was Rosie.”

The room became deathly quiet — just for a moment.

Surprised, I glanced up at Steph before sheepishly looking over at Clive, waiting for an outburst. He was a bit obsessed with me, for sure, and I thought Steph’s answer may cause him to feel threatened or jealous.

However, I was completely wrong. He seemed captivated with the idea and asked Steph trivia regarding what I was like back then.

I took a deep sigh of relief and settled back in my chair, and of course in hindsight it was clear she’d been keen on me. She never wanted to talk to anyone else on the bus.

However, I didn’t think too deeply about it, as I too had fantasised about her. I theorised it had simply been a typical schoolgirl crush. Innocent and a rite of passage in some ways.

When Steph left that night and Clive and I went to bed, he held my arms above my head and goaded me, “So Red — imagine Steph in my place, her mouth on yours. Your bodies writhing to the passionate rhythm you jointly create.”

He seemed to get off on the thought of us being intimate, and within moments, he was confidently giving me pleasure while taking his own.

After that evening, my friendship with Steph really blossomed. Clive obviously approved, and I really enjoyed her company.

A few months passed, and Steph and Clive continued to get on extremely well — they shared a similar sense of humour and love of books. The three of us began spending a lot of time together and because Steph lived with her parents, she would occasionally stay over on mine or Clive’s sofa.

One day, we’d all been to the local pub and had a little too much to drink. When we got home, Clive went straight to bed as he had work the next day, but Steph and I stayed up late chatting.

After a while I dozed off but was unexpectedly awoken by Steph smoothing back the hair from my face, before…

“Rosie, I want to kiss you.”
